Taking a look at Hatch, the unique venue in Manchester's city centre

Updated: May 29, 2021

In the heart of the city centre of Manchester, Hatch a thriving food, drink and retail venue is changing the game for hospitality. Unlike any other, it is located under a busy fly-over on Oxford Road and is designed solely from shipping containers and even features a restaurant inside a double decker bus.

Aside from the crazy design of the place, what’s so special? Well, Hatch is home to over 30 independent retailers with different specialities on offer from clothing shops, to quirky bars and restaurants to a barbers - so you can get a hair-cut and a pint in one place.

The vibe of the place is like no other with terraced seating, neon lighting and live performances by DJ’s. Now with the current restrictions on in-door seating lifting (17th May) you can enjoy what the venue has to offer both inside and outdoors.

Here, some of the venue’s regular customers tell us about why they keep coming back.

University of Manchester student, Charlie Coffey, 21 stated: “The best thing about coming here is that you can order from multiple places online from your phone, so you’re not restricted to any particular food or drink item.”
Fashion Designer, Charlie Pyatt, 21 said: “I come Hatch often because there’s always such a good atmosphere. I also like that it's all independent businesses and its giving money to those who deserve it, especially after the year we’ve had”.

If you’re visiting Manchester this summer then Hatch is an absolute must, or even if you're local and haven't had a chance yet, go head down.
